Now about the position

In this role, you’ll be a key player, working with high-profile clients to create innovative and newsworthy campaigns. This role will bolster a strong foundation in building relationships, working across multiple departments in and outside of the agency. It will strengthen skillsets, including work prioritization, multi-project management, meeting deadlines, and actively communicating progress and deliverables to accounts teams, all while delivering results through high-quality work.

The position is ideal for a recent college graduate looking to start a career in PR.

What You'll Do:
  • Primary account team support for all communications plan development
  • Market research that leads to an understanding of crucial client information, i.e., industry issues, products and services, competitors, and consumer desires
  • Client service administration support, i.e., hit tracking, client status, and activity reports, attending related client meetings, compiling media reports, and client scheduling.
  • Media outreach and relationship building with respective media outlets
  • Being responsive and proactive on timely and priority campaigns and/or tasks
  • Proficient in online social applications, i.e., Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube
  • You live and breathe ‘accountability’ – say what you’ll do and do what you say.
  • You have a ‘make it happen attitude – someone who is scrappy, creative, asks questions, provides status updates, and speaks to performance around vital results.

Now, a little about you:

Must be able to commute to the office located in Century City 3 days a week, working a schedule of 9 am-6 pm

  • A passion for media relations demonstrated with an understanding of the communications market.
  • BA or defined education in PR, communications, journalism, or a related concentration
  • Ideally, 1 year of public relations intern experience, preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication ability
  • Outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills
  • An adaptability mindset
  • Strict attention to detail and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft and Google Drive applications, i.e., Outlook, Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.
  • A strong work ethic and ability to provide high-quality work
  • This is not a remote work opportunity; DKC operates on a hybrid weekly schedule (3 days in-office / 2 days WFH).
The salary range for this role is commensurate with experience from around $40k - $45k.

At DKC, we celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our agency. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
