Job Title: Certified Sterile Processing Technician

Location: Ashtabula, Ohio

Shift Type: Days

Shift Times: 1st shift with variable morning start times

Hours/Day: 8

Weekend Requirements: On-call rotation on weekends from 7:00 am 8:00 pm with staggered start times

On Call Requirements: Yes, weekends only

Hourly Rate: Starting at $18.00 per hour (increases based on experience)

Annual Salary: $37,440

Job Overview :

The Certified Sterile Processing Technician will provide crucial indirect patient care services by ensuring the decontamination, sterilization, inventory management, and distribution of surgical instruments and equipment. The Sterile Processing Tech adheres to safety standards and professional conduct while supporting the professional staff in delivering top-notch care. The ideal candidate will be a team player with a strong focus on efficiency and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform decontamination, packaging, sterilization, and inventory duties following industry standards and hospital protocols.
• Ensure all surgical instruments and tools are sterilized and ready for use by medical professionals.
• Maintain strict adherence to safety and professional standards of conduct as a processing technician.
• Initiate and maintain positive relationships with co-workers, medical staff, and customers.
• Continuously work on self-development and support a learning environment to enhance job performance.
• Display commitment to the hospitals mission and values, promoting quality patient care.

Physical & Environmental Demands:

• Ability to walk six to eight miles during an eight-hour shift.
• Capable of lifting or carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work under high stress and in a fast-paced environment.
• Potential exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
