Job Summary :
The Chief Impact Officer serves as the primary liaison between the United Way of Greater Charlotte (UWGC) and its surrounding communities, providing strategic oversight of all programmatic activities including trust-based grantmaking, and developing, promoting and maintaining strategic community collaborations. This executive leads UWGC's community impact and organizational growth work, empowering each foundation and community fund while ensuring maximum impact with optimal efficiency. The role requires deep understanding of and regular interaction with all UWGC constituents-donors, grantees, nonprofits, community residents, government agencies, and the Board-to effectively advance the organization's mission. The CIO builds and stewards relationships with diverse stakeholders throughout Charlotte and partner communities, championing critical causes and responding to emergent challenges while maintaining strong customer service. This position demands commitment to fair access and opportunities for everyone, coupled with awareness of different backgrounds and willingness to learn from diverse experiences. As a key Leadership Team member reporting to the President & CEO, the CIO provides staff leadership to the Board and serves as an experienced change maker in philanthropic, nonprofit, civic, and social sectors.
