Job Title: Chief Product Officer  

Employment Type: Full Time, 40 hours/week 

Reports to: CEO  

FLSA Status: Exempt

Opportunity 

This role involves creating, managing, and improving the product lines and products in the business, financial education and live event industry. This role will also oversee outsourced service providers who fulfill existing products. The Chief Product Officer will decide whether to outsource, white label, or develop our own internal products for each vertical and/or product category. 

The CPO will also work closely with Marketing, Sales, Strategy, Operations and Finance on product strategy, development, and execution.  The ideal candidate will play a vital role as one of the key leaders of the organization working directly with the CEO and the Executive Leadership Team. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop, strategize, and execute brand and product vision, from conception to launch to end of product lifecycle.  

  • Oversee all aspects of product development and product management. 

  • Lead the entire product development lifecycle, from product creation, marketing strategy, revenue stream development, beta testing, launch, and continuous improvements. 

  • Oversee all types of internal and external products such as:  

  • Live events (local events, conferences, unique experiences, etc.)  

  • Education (online, in-person, coaching, etc.)  

  • Memberships (masterminds, online communities, SaaS tech, etc.)  

  • Recurring services ecosystem (financial and business services)  

  • Other types of products (merch, etc.). 

  • Continuously analyze and improve the customer journey for optimal customer experience and revenue generation.  

  • Build a high performing and world-class product team, including but not limited to product developers, managers, researchers, project managers, etc. 

  • Lead, manage, and hold product team accountable to achieving the right team and individual results.  

  • Translate data insights into actionable concepts, timelines, and projects, balancing customer experience, financial viability, marketing needs, and business objectives. 

  • Develop and lead internal product team and external product partners.  

  • Collaborate with leadership and stakeholders to develop business cases, plans, and innovative strategies for existing and new product offerings. Evaluate market trends and competitive strategies to inform pricing and positioning. 

  • Conduct market research to identify new opportunities and enhance existing offerings. Evaluate event and product value propositions, assess competitors' quality, and make informed recommendations. 

  • Work with other key members of the organization and undertake additional projects as necessary to support the broader organizational goals. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in business, or related field; MBA or equivalent preferred. 

  • Proven track record of successful product leadership, preferably in education or financial services industry. 

  • Exceptional strategic thinking and demonstrated experience in translating insights into actionable plans. 

  • Strong ability to balance customer-centricity, financial considerations, and business objectives. 

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills. 

  • Proficiency in market research, competitive analysis, and product positioning. 

  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams with market research and / or product development and management. 

  • Prior experience in developing successful events or education brands, products, and services. 

  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a solutions-oriented mindset. 

  • High-level proficiency in project management and budget oversight.
