Job Purpose:
As the Director of Project Management, you'll lead the project management function and ensure the successful execution of client programs from start to finish. This senior-level, client-facing role will involve driving operational excellence by overseeing project teams, optimizing workflows, and managing risks and opportunities. You'll be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of project managers, providing strategic direction, and ensuring program efficiency and client satisfaction. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be essential to achieving revenue milestones and improving project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary contact for client programs, ensuring smooth execution and alignment with business objectives.
Oversee program governance, from project initiation through execution, risk management, and performance tracking.
Drive continuous improvement in project management processes, tools, and reporting frameworks.
Set and monitor KPIs to measure project performance, efficiency, and client satisfaction.
Provide leadership to the Project Management team by setting goals, mentoring staff, and ensuring adherence to best practices.
Lead and manage a growing team of project managers, ensuring optimal resource allocation and professional development.
Act as an escalation point for complex project issues, proactively identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
Ensure accurate and timely reporting of project milestones, financials, and client communications.
Collaborate with internal teams like Business Development, Operations, and R&D to ensure project execution aligns with company goals.
Foster strong relationships with clients and champion a client-centric approach to service excellence.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in chemistry, life sciences, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
7+ years of project/program management experience in a CDMO, CRO, or pharmaceutical/biotech environment.
PMP certification or formal project management training is highly desirable.
Proven leadership experience, with the ability to build and manage high-performing teams.
Strong business acumen and a history of driving operational excellence and revenue growth.
Excellent problem-solving, strategic thinking, and relationship management skills.
Ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of an organization.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Outlook), Smartsheet, and project management software.
Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
