We are looking to fill a
Project Manager I, Emerging Energy Technologies position as part of our Business Strategy Department. As a member of the Energy Solutions team, you will have a broad impact on energy efficiency markets and greenhouse gas reductions through our work for major North American utilities, program administrators and other national leaders in energy efficiency. Persons filling this position can choose to work from any of our office locations for a hybrid opportunity in: Oakland, CA, Orange, CA, Portland, OR, Boston, MA, Chicago, IL, or New York, NY. We will also consider remote candidates in other parts of the United States as well. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Enabling the implementation of a suite of energy efficiency and electrification programs through launching and monitoring emerging technology projects on State-run software platforms
- Translating a variety of energy program and equipment details from nontechnical to technical audiences, and vice versa
- Ensuring alignment of implementation activities between internal technical teams and consulting stakeholders by gathering program and user requirements
- Working with internal and partner teams to develop and document project results
- Planning and monitoring timelines to complete projects on time and on budget
- Providing guidance and training to peers in different roles, and to junior team members completing similar technical support work
Minimum qualifications: - A bachelor's degree preferably with a quantitative focus, e.g. environmental science, engineering, information systems management, a similar quantitative field, or a non-technical field with some technical experience
- Degree may be replaced by equivalent work experience
- A minimum of 2 years of similar work experience with a Bachelor's degree
- A minimum of 4 years of similar work experience in lieu of Bachelor's degree
- Mechanical engineering knowledge or experience (understanding of system loops, thermodynamics, mass and energy balance, understanding engineering schematic, understanding system reference manuals)
- Prior participation in technical projects and/or small technical project teams, for example:
- Experience with energy modeling
- Report on technical development efforts
- Experience in liaising with technical engineers/designers of these systems
- Research and literature review, or at least facilitation of these efforts
- Ability to troubleshoot problems involving formulas or complex data sets independently
- Demonstrated commitment to and consistency in quality control practices
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent personal accountability and organization, including ability to balance competing priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong project management skills
Salary is commensurate with experience within the pay bands of $65,000 - $75,000/Annually Compensation is commensurate with experience and includes a generous retirement package.
