About the Role:

As a Front-end Engineering Apprentice, you will build and maintain world class web applications for our customer and external partners working directly with our backend services. You’ll be working on a small, multi-functional team that may include other engineers, a designer, product manager, data scientist and other roles. Success in this role requires the ability to take on challenging problems while designing and developing amazing solutions with a user-centric focus.

You will build amazing products focused on reimagining the shopping experience. Join us in transforming the way that brands reach their customers and empowering consumers to Live Rewarded through the power of Fetch Points!

This is a full-time role that can be held from one of our US offices or remotely in the United States.

What you’ll do at Fetch (Role Responsibilities):

  • Tackle challenging and ambiguous problems requiring the right balance of product design and technology while weighing both short and long term tradeoffs.
  • Build and implement features ranging from those with highly specific wireframes and designs to barebones ideas which can require generating an MVP and ongoing iterations.
  • Create responsive designs to ensure a consistent and seamless user experience across devices.
  • Reduce technical debt by optimizing poor-performing code, writing quality tests, and creating clear documentation.

In your Toolbox (Minimum Requirements):

  • Extensive experience building web applications using JavaScript and proficiency in TypeScript
  • Experience with React and Svelte frameworks
  • Experience with front-end styling and layout languages (e.g. CSS, HTML, Sass, Less)
  • A solid foundation of  functional and/or object-oriented programming
  • Experience with design system implementation
  • Experience with application state management
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g. Git)
  • Effective communication, including the ability to translate and explain technical issues to non-technical team members

Program Eligibility

  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week) from either the Chicago or Madison Fetch office for a fixed term of 12-16 weeks
  • While a degree is not required for this position, the apprenticeship program is not intended for students who are actively enrolled in a full-time, degree-seeking program.
    • In order to be eligible for this program, full-time students must be within one month of their anticipated graduation date.
  • Due to the short-term nature of this role, we are not able to transfer existing H1Bs or support new applications for the FY 2026 lottery.

Compensation:

This is a nonexempt role with a rate of $50/ hour.
