Healthcare Hardware Installation Technician

Operating under the leadership of the Installation Project Manager, your role will encompass the complete lifecycle of equipment installation, from initial scheduling to final inspections, meticulously aligning with provided plans and specifications.

*** This position requires up to 80% overnight travel **

This role is remote and involves customer interactions across an assigned territory. Residency in Utah is mandatory.

Day-to-Day Duties:

  • Work closely with the Installation Project Manager to schedule product setup in relation to equipment arrival, customer schedule, and construction progress.
  • Prior to setting up, confirm that site dimensions and available utilities measure up to equipment specifications, ensuring smooth transportation of equipment.
  • Check to ensure delivered items are correct as per the client's order and consult the Project Manager if anomalies are found.
  • Handle the setup of STERIS products, from opening crates to positioning machinery, adjusting levels, connecting utilities, and conducting tests.
  • Operate self-reliantly, logging service documentation digitally.
  • Perform testing with live operations to validate the quality of the installation procedures.
  • Communicate daily updates through emails to maintain transparency and facilitate effective customer service and technician transitions.
  • Foster customer happiness through post-installation engagement, ensuring tidiness and responsiveness to lingering queries.
  • Exhibit a professional approach when dealing with clients, contractors, and colleagues, ensuring adherence to all relevant protocols.
  • Consistently manage and report tool inventories annually to your supervisor.
  • Administer a stock of installation supplies in line with planned installations.
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as needed.

What We Seek in Candidates:

  • An associate's credential in mechanical, construction, or related studies, with a year's experience, or a high school diploma with five years of equivalent vocational exposure.

  • Outstanding communication skills, both spoken and written.

  • Competence in technical problem-solving and troubleshooting.

  • Fluency in computers, plus Windows applications.

  • Understanding of networked plumbing, electrical systems, and mechanics.

  • Capacity to juggle multiple priorities and adapt as necessary.

  • Willingness to work outside traditional business hours and accommodate travel-related work.

  • A valid driver's permit is necessary.

  • Foundational computing skills are expected.

  • Capability to meet hospital/customer credentialing standards is required.
