Job Description

The position of Construction/Install Manager will be a dynamic role that will require a wide range of oversite and flexibility. In this role you will have direct responsibility for the Install Operations for the Arcticom Group through one of its operating companies in multiple states. This will include P&L responsibility for these installation operations. Additionally, you will have responsibility for the general operations of the installation operations team. The role will require you to work closely with your counterparts in Service, Accounting, Sales, and senior management.

• Align install personnel in your assigned regions via direct reporting and dotted-line oversight
  • Consistently communicate with field leads, project managers, and senior management to operate efficiently and with high morale
  • Actively manage specific customers/accounts by working hand in hand with project managers on the following:
    • Communicating regularly with client 
    • Actively managing and communicating active/pending quotes 
    • Provide technical support to Project Managers & Field as needed 
    • Bridge the gap between the field and project managers by developing consistent and practical communication/tools 
• Forecast, monitor, and document install financial performance against plan 
• Manage budgets/hours and actively react to changes or faults
• Lead forecasting of manpower needs, against opportunities by closely working with Business Development Manager and the estimating team 
• Review, sign-off, and ensure bids are meeting our growth initiatives while maintaining budget expectations and gross margin
• Lead weekly meetings to keep team collaborating and forging forward consistently with best practices and overall collaboration 
  • Meet at minimum every-other week in-person with project managers and estimating lead(s)
• Help maintain and administer safety program and protocol, address deficiencies and report to safety team
• Accomplish refrigeration install department human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures. Communicating with support HR teams accordingly.
• Sales/Estimating, Accounting, Account Management, and Service will not directly report to you; however, you will need to closely collaborate with those leaders or departments to ensure proper operations
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed
• Willingly provide insight, suggestions, and methods to better the company while working closely with management
• Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit

Job Requirements

• Minimum 5 year of Construction Management experience in the commercial construction industry
• High School Degree or GED equivalent
• Experience in Construction or similar industry
• HVAC/R industry knowledge or experience preferred

Physical Demands and Working Environment

Work is performed in a standard office environment and at job sites. Approximately 50% of duties performed are in a seated position, and 50% will be at job sites working with install personnel. The employee must reach with hands and arms and talk and hear. Have the ability to walk job sites, which includes stairs and unfinished new construction buildings. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel requirements.
