We are seeking an experienced Board-Certified Physician Assistant to provide locum tenens coverage in an Occupational Medicine setting in Chesapeake, VA. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic clinic that focuses on workplace health, injury care, and regulatory physicals for the local workforce.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in occupational health services and experience performing DOT physicals, injury care, and pre-employment evaluations.
Practice Scope & Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive care for occupational medicine patients in a clinic setting
Conduct:
Pre-Employment Physicals
Return-to-Duty Evaluations
DOT Physicals (DOT Certification required)
Workers’ Compensation Injury Care (including follow-ups and acute injury treatment)
Collaborate with employers, case managers, and other healthcare providers to ensure timely care and safe return-to-work plans
Document patient encounters clearly and accurately in accordance with clinic protocols
Schedule
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – close
Clinic closes at 4:30 PM but may be extended slightly based on walk-in injuries
No call / No weekends
Patient Volume
Average 8–10 patients per day
Requirements
Board Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C)
Active Virginia PA license
DOT Medical Examiner Certification
ACLS (AHA certified)
BLS (AHA certified)
