Job Description

Seeking a passionate and dedicated after-school care assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will create a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children, fostering social, emotional, cognitive, and faith/religious development. This role requires a strong understanding of childhood development principles and the ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.

Duties

• Foster a positive environment that encourages curiosity and exploration.
• Provide individualized support to children with special needs or developmental challenges.
• Communicate regularly with parents
• Maintain a safe and clean classroom environment that promotes child welfare.
• Supervise children ages 3 to 10 during playtime, snack, and other activities to ensure safety and engagement.
• Assist with homework help grades K-4 as needed.
• Substitute in preschool classrooms

Qualifications

• Highschool diploma or equivalent
• Relevant experience in childcare is essential (minimum 1 year). A plus if candidate holds a CDA, associate or bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or related field
• Experience working with children in a preschool and/or school age setting is highly desirable.
• Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff members.
• Familiarity with special education practices is a plus.
• A commitment to fostering a supportive learning environment that prioritizes child welfare.
• Clearances required to work at Pennsylvania DHS regulated childcare facility. Act 33: Child Abuse History, Act 34: Criminal Record, Act 114: FBI Fingerprint, NSOR (National Sex Offenders Registry) Verification
• Infant-Child First Aid/CPR Certification preferred (St. Boniface can assist with obtaining certification)

Job Types : Part-time; afternoon/evening

Expected hours: 15 – 25 per week
