Snr. Mining Engineer

Accountabilities / Responsibilities • Manage and review Scoping Study, PFS, FS report and related documents
• Open pit and/or Underground mine design, planning and optimization
• Preparation of scope of work in the contracts
• Deliver a safe and economical long-term and short-term mine plan with industry professional 3D design software based on given
geology model and delicate industry standards and requirements.
• Demonstrate a good sense of safety in production, manage mine safety management within the scope of work and cooperate with
mine’s safety department and other relevant departments in production safety management. Update emergency rescue plans for mines
according to the requirements of higher authorities and mining conditions.
• Adopt effective mining production optimization, energy saving and consumption reduction measures to achieve the budget control
target of production cost. Effectively control the loss rate, dilution rate and transportation distance, and constantly reduce the unit
mining cost and comprehensive mining cost.
• Implement the whole process of mining quality management and control.
• Communicate and cooperate effectively with all mine departments.
• Maintain momentum and deliver within the requirements of Safe Tasks Management.
• Experience with copper & cobalt mining in DRC, specifically in mining, geology, and processing.
• Experience with Mine economics including budgets and forecasts.
• Collaborate with the relevant stakeholders regarding technical issues.
• Develop and manage the implementation of the quality plan.
• Review and advice on engineering design progress and status in line with the project plan.
• Actively pursue the exchange and protection of information between operations and individuals to ensure effective knowledge
management according to organizational objectives.
Skills • Strong Mining Software: Whittle, SURPAC, 3DMine, Talpac, Vulcan, XPAC
• Computer skills (Power Point, Word, excel, AutoCAD)
• Good communication skills
• Proficient in English
• Ability to work with extremely confidential data
• Strong analytical skills
Knowledge • Knowledge of mining engineering-underground & open-pit
• Knowledge of international Mining Projects
• Knowledge of Mining Study & Reports
• Knowledge of international Study & Reports (AACE, AUSIMM)
• Knowledge of techno-economic
• Knowledge of geology eg hydrology, geotechnical
• Knowledge of Mining Industry standards
• Knowledge of JORC system
• Knowledge of Mining Safety & Quality Management
Experience • 10+ years' experience in mining industry as a technical management role or above
Education, Qualifications, Tickets, Licences • Master’s degree in mining engineering, senior engineer qualification or equivalent
• High standard of English language skills, particularly reading and writing skills.
