Staff Accountant (Construction) Location Freeport, FL : Our client is in search of an experienced Staff Accountant to manage general accounting operations for their Heavy Civil Construction Company. This position requires exceptional analytical skills, a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles, and meticulous attention to detail to guarantee accurate reporting across all areas. Job Responsibilities:

• Support monthly closing processes, provide general accounting support, and assist with annual audits.
• Perform full cycle certified payroll.
• Handle Accounts Payable tasks and assist with weekly check runs.
• Complete NTOs, lien releases, certificates of insurance request, and manage subcontractor administration processes.
• Maintain a comprehensive database of COI's/W9's for Vendors and Subcontractors.
• Oversee monthly credit cards transactions, including verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions, and resolving discrepancies.
• Work with the Contract Administrator and Controller to process monthly billings.
• Execute job setups in Foundation SoRware.
• Assist with general office support including filing, phone support, office supplies management, etc.
• Dedication to continuously improving the automa8on of the accounting and reporting processes.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a creditable certification in the field
• 3 - 5 years of accounting experience
• 3 years of specific experience working in the construction industry
• Proficient in Certified Payroll processes
• Experience with the following systems/software is preferred: QuickBooks, Foundation Accounting Software, MS Office (especially Excel), and Dropbox
• Thorough understanding of internal control and compliance
• Demonstrated analytical skills, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail
