Description of Responsibilities
Canyon Hills Friends Church

Introduction:
The responsibilities listed define the minimum expectations of Canyon Hills Friends Church for the position of Worship Pastor. Our desire is that the Worship Pastor will work not only to maintain the current standard, but also strive for excellence for the glory of God and the expansion of His Church.

The ideal candidate will be a gifted singer and musician with a desire to engage people through the worship experience as well as recruit, train and inspire volunteers and administer the technical requirements of the Sunday Experience.

Position Responsibilities Summary:

Staff: 

• Attend staff meetings.
• Attend Service Planning meetings.
• Coordinate worship set with teaching pastor for all weekend services.

Worship Team Rehearsals:

• Lead weekly rehearsals.
• Vocal rehearsing and creative, and spiritual components.
• Planning Center and instrumental arrangements.
• Develop others who are gifted to lead worship and/or sing or play instruments.

Weekend Services, Nights of Worship & Special Events:

• Create and lead worship/music sets for weekend services and church events (as assigned).
• Prepare, in conjunction with pastors, 2-3 “Nights of Worship” throughout the year.
• Prepare for seasonal events – Christmas Musical, Christmas Eve, Easter Weekend(including Good Friday), and Birthday Weekend. 

Administrative:

• Oversee all aspects of Worship & Creative Arts ministry including all musicians, singers and audio/video techs.
• Create and manage annual Worship & Creative Arts budget.
• Create and oversee selection and cataloging of all music charts to be used along with Lead Pastor & Worship Team Volunteers.
• Create Pro-Presenter shows for services/events with instructions for A/V Team along with Audio Visual Coordinator & other Volunteers.
• Conduct auditions to incorporate new people into the Worship Team.
• Create Worship and A/V Team schedules using Planning Center Online along with Audio Visual Coordinator & other Volunteers.
• Communicate A/V needs to the A/V Team Leaders via PCO prior to each Thursday rehearsal.
• Oversee Stage Resets.
• Recruit, train and encourage volunteers.

Other:

• Assist with weddings and memorial services. This is compensated above normal salary.
• Attend one conference per year for education, inspiration, and selection of new music.
