The BHCC STEM division welcomes an Assistant Dean with a primary focus on STEM student success and retention. The successful candidate will provide support and leadership to faculty and students across the STEM division. The Assistant Dean will collaborate with BHCC faculty, college support staff, the division dean, and external partners to craft a holistic and executable plan for STEM student retention, degree completion, transfer and/or workforce entry.

Supervision exercised:

STEM Coordinator, Math space Coordinators, Student Supplemental Instruction leaders, and student mentors.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Collaborate with faculty, LifeMap and Student Central to identify challenges in student course and degree completion; implement and assess appropriate solutions.
• Work with state-wide groups focused on the expansion of Workforce Development programming in STEM, including but not limited to projects focused on microcredentials, short-term STEM trainings, and non-credit to credit pathways.
• Liaise with 4-year school transfer office personnel to maintain relationships with alumni and monitor progress to 4-year degree completion.
• Collaborate with the office of Institutional Research, Assessment, and Planning to analyze student data, develop post-graduate outreach materials, and cultivate STEM alumni connections.
• Oversee the various STEM mentorship, community building, and supplemental instruction programs.
• Work with faculty to expand inclusive STEM curriculum and experiential learning opportunities that emphasize a culture of learning and belonging in STEM.
• Participate in STEM-related grant proposal and post-award meetings to support identified initiatives and achievement of grant-related outcomes, in collaboration with the Grants Office.
• Assist the Dean with routine division business as directed. These duties may include: schedule creation and staffing, budget development and disbursement, initial response to student and faculty concerns.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• Master's degree, or higher, in a STEM field. STEM Baccalaureate degree with a complementary Master's degree also considered.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in higher education administration
• Experience with grant proposals (planning, managing, and reporting).
• Strong writing and interpersonal communication skills.
• Experience using data to inform programmatic decisions.
• Experience managing staff.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Degree and/or industry experience in high tech field.
• Community college teaching and/or administrative experience.
• Project management experience.
• Experience with state and federal grants.

Additional Information:

Salary Range: $115,000.00 - $122,000.00 Non-Unit Professional position. Full State Benefits. Actual Salary Will Be Commensurate With Education and Experience.
