The Department of Pediatrics at Seattle Children?s Hospital/University of Washington, School of Medicine is recruiting two full-time academic board eligible or certified pediatric nephrologists at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level on the Clinician Scholar Pathway. All University of Washington Faculty engage in teaching, research, and service. The successful applicant will spend their time in clinical care at Seattle Children's Hospital and would be expected to participate in regional outreach activities. There is built-in protected time for administrative and scholarly activities dependent on the background and expertise of the applicant. Anticipated start date is Spring 2025.
Clinical duties will primarily be hospital-based, including coverage of our nephrology inpatient and consult services, with one or more regular regional outreach clinics. Weekend and night call will be shared equally with the other division faculty. This position will include teaching and education of medical students, pediatric residents, pediatric nephrology fellows, as well as other members of the multidisciplinary Nephrology team. The positions are available immediately.
We have a dynamic division comprised of 15 faculty members, 1 APP, and 6 fellows who provide care to patients drawn from the widest geographic area of any children?s hospital in the United States. Seattle Children?s Hospital has busy solid-organ and stem-cell transplant programs, and our division offers a robust acute care nephrology program, including all dialysis modalities, plasma exchange and LDL apheresis. Our ACGME-accredited fellowship program completely fills every year and offers our trainees a wide variety of clinical and research opportunities. Seattle is one of the most exciting cities in the United States and offers a wide variety of cultural and recreational opportunities.
Assistant Professors are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1 ? June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for time off.
Associate Professors hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.
Salary and academic appointment at University of Washington will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and academic rank.
The base salary range for this position will be: Assistant Professors $12,226 - $18,339 per month ($146,712 - $220,068 annually), Associate Professors $14,855 - $22,282 per month ($178,260 - $273,936 annually), commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the Children?s University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by Children?s University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.
Other compensation associated with this position may include incentive through Children?s University Medical Group practice plan. Additional administrative responsibilities may be offered to a specific candidate with appropriate experience and qualifications which may result in an administrative supplement (ADS).
The successful candidate will have an MD or DO (or foreign equivalent) and be board eligible or board certified in pediatrics and must be eligible for medical licensure in state of Washington.
In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
