Job Description

We are looking for an experienced full-time chef to join a personal residence team, working Monday through Friday. This role involves overseeing all kitchen operations, including grocery shopping, managing waitstaff, and coordinating multiple events throughout the day.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for sole preparation of high-end casual dining meals for a range of events, including:
• Seated dinners for up to 24 guests
• Receptions for 40+ guests
• Smaller meals for up to 8 guests simultaneously
• Source and utilize quality ingredients in a cost-effective way.
• Design and execute a diverse menu featuring a first course, main course, and dessert (except for breakfast).
• Ensure consistent food quality while allowing for creative presentation and offerings.
• Adjust to a schedule influenced by the congressional calendar, with busy periods when Congress is in session that may require early breakfasts and late dinners.
• Plan menus and manage shopping and waitstaff, with events typically confirmed a week in advance, but with flexibility for last-minute changes.

Qualifications:

• Experience in high-end casual dining.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to thrive under pressure.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and demands.
