POSITION SUMMARY
The primary responsibility of this role is to plan and execute sales and marketing activities for the Service Center. These activities will be the same for both Senior Sales Engineers and Sales Engineers. This includes employing proven sales techniques such as in-person client meetings, phone calls, group presentations, territory and account management, and involvement in relevant technical and professional organizations. The role also involves working with the Operations Department and/or corporate staff to create comprehensive proposals for the company.
Additionally, a key aspect of this role will be mentoring and developing junior sales staff. The Senior Sales Engineer will guide Associate Sales Engineers, Inside Sales Engineers, and other Sales Engineers in areas such as technical knowledge, sales tactics, marketing strategies, and the business skills necessary for success in the field.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Support sales efforts to consistently achieve regional sales targets.
- Make regular visits to current major accounts and establish relationships with potential new clients.
- Deliver clear, compelling customer presentations, ensuring pricing proposals are both accurate and technically sound.
- Demonstrated strength in selling maintenance, engineering services, and professional services is essential.
- Develop new business opportunities, handle national accounts, and engage in high-level sales discussions, including with executives (VP level).
- Provide marketing support to enhance the company's visibility and reputation in the industry.
- Implement monthly area-specific marketing initiatives.
- Support corporate needs related to new service assessments, market research, and the development of marketing materials.
- Represent the company in public relations efforts aimed at driving sales.
- Actively participate in trade shows, conferences, and industry associations.
- Deliver effective group presentations for both internal and external audiences.
- Participate as a member of the Area Management Committee.
- Contribute ideas and suggestions for improving sales and marketing strategies.
- Mentor and train new sales associates on the company's sales approach and methodologies.
- Evaluate the skills and technical knowledge of new sales associates and provide a recommended training plan to the regional manager.
- Provide training in areas such as technical support, sales techniques, proposal development, site walkthroughs, and account management.

QUALIFICATIONS To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in engineering (BSEE/BSME) or equivalent experience; or
- A graduate of an electrical technical school or similar program, with a minimum of five years of related experience; or
- A high school diploma or equivalent, with at least eight years of relevant experience.
- Flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including weekends and some overnight travel, as required by the sales territory.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use hands/fingers for tasks, including working at a computer and conducting site walk-throughs in environments with electrical equipment.
- A valid driver's license is required.
